How much will the 2007 Budget affect my pay?

This is not an easy thing to work out, this is what was shown in the budget in March 2007:

  • 22% tax bracket lowered to 20% for 2008 2009
  • 10% tax bracket scrapped in 2009 2010
  • 40% tax bracket raised to 43000 in 2009 2010
  • National insurance ceiling raised to 43000 in 2009 2010
  • You may use the calculator below to see how this effects you. Enter your total salary before tax and press calculate. These must only be used as an estimate as national insurance varies from person to person. We do not say that these numbers are correct or at all accurate.

    take home pay in 2007/2008 = £0
    (£0 tax & £0 national insurance)

    take home pay in 2008/2009 = £0
    (£0 tax & £0 national insurance)

    take home pay in 2009/2010 = £0
    (£0 tax & £0 national insurance)

Note: This calculation assumes no change in the tax free allowance and uses the 2007 2008 numbers. If these increase then you will take home a increased number than shown here.
